Jon Cartwright is a freelance writer who has spent two decades exploring fundamental science, as well as its connection with art, religion and philosophy.

He is a regular contributor to New Scientist magazine. His articles have also appeared in Science, Nature, Prospect, The Daily Telegraph and The Observer.

Jon owns an editorial company, Three Quarks Editorial, which provides tailored writing and editing services, primarily for academic institutions. Its clients have included the European Synchrotron and its regular ESRFnews magazine, Horizon (which is published on behalf of the European Commission), Lund University and the European Spallation Source.
